The scenery between the parks was just as amazing as the Parks themselves.....from CanyonLands National Park, we took a backcountry road to Natural Bridges National Monument....this road was recommended for 4 Wheel drive only and normally I would not take these roads alone so it was a real treat to be able to venture forth!! What a great great road!!!....it took 6 hours to go 58 miles but so worth it!! 
These things were sticking up all over the place!!
The road was a little washboardy at times but as long as you went slow it was fine!
Then all of a sudden the canyons were behind us and we were surrounded by Aspen forests!
We were passing through the Manti-Lasal National Forest and all National Forest land is open to camping..free....so it means just finding a place.....this is my favorite type of camping!! There are no accommodations of course but I am totally self contained...including the compost toilet should I need it....however this campsite had plenty of firewood available and soft sand for digging! And we had come down in elevation from 8300 feet to about 7000 so it would be warmer!!
