I drove along the west shore of Bear Lake....a HUGE natural freshwater lake on the Utah-Idaho border.....also called the "Caribbean of the Rockies" for the turquoise water (because of the suspended limestone deposits in the water).
I really wanted to drive down to that beach but my previous experience of getting stuck on sand kept me from it....

I am always intrigued about claims made of discovering places......of course no mention of who was already there when it was discovered......
The colors are breathtaking.
